Hannah Griego

If you're not sure what folks are cheering each time Hannah roasts someone for the score, it's probably "Viva la 'Burque!" This fiery New Mexican is fueled by green chile and it shows: you'll be looking at the bottom of her cleats (from both behind and below) if you have drawn the unfortunate task of marking her. Hannah has unflappable mental toughness and possesses one of the most complete games around. Beyond being blazingly fast (yup, she ran track for Stanford), she gets open on command, makes 100% decisions with the disc, and can deliver beautiful break-mark continues and long leading hucks with equal ease. And that's only on offense. On the other side of the disc, Hannah is hand- and foot- block central. Especially if your state is known for poor resource management or greedy water usage. She's a fierce mid-mid in the cup and an even fiercer mark, and for four years now, she's been taking the other teams' best players out of the equation. Hannah is undoubtedly one of the most underrated players in the college game, largely because she embodies what it means to be a Superfly: she is a proud teammate and a humble individual, always eager and willing to get down to work and show everyone that when it comes to grit, no one out-does a grad student.
